Save Import/Export (.txt) for PokéPath TD (Browser)

The browser version can sometimes lose saved progress. The most reliable way to protect your run is to export a .txt backup after EVERY session.

This page shows the fastest export/import workflow, plus fixes for common issues like “invalid code”, clipboard truncation, or outdated export strings.

Why browser saves can disappear

  • The browser build is warned to be unstable, which can cause save loss.
  • Saves depend on browser storage; storage can be cleared by browser cleanup, settings, or policy changes.
  • On some WebKit-based browsers, local storage may be cleared after a period of no interaction (so long gaps can be risky).

Takeaway: Treat the browser save as “not guaranteed” — your .txt backup is the dependable restore point.

⏱ The fastest safe workflow (30 seconds)

  1. Finish your session → open Menu.
  2. ExportDownload (.txt).
  3. Rename the file with date + route + wave.
  4. Upload/move it to a safe folder (cloud).
  5. Keep at least 3–5 recent backups.
Example: pokepath-td_save_2026-01-02_route7_wave120.txt

How to Export a .txt save

  1. 1Open Menu
  2. 2Click Export
  3. 3Click Download (.txt)
  4. 4Confirm the .txt file is saved (non-empty)
  5. 5Store it safely (cloud recommended)

Pro tips

  • Export after each session, not “occasionally”.
  • If you’re about to change routes / do a big upgrade session, export first as a checkpoint.

How to Import / Restore from a .txt backup

  1. 1Open Menu
  2. 2Click Import
  3. 3Load/select your saved .txt file (or paste the full string if prompted)
  4. 4Confirm the game reloads your progress

Note: Always import from the most recent backup that matches your last real save point.

Where to store backups

Use a dedicated folder

Suggest a single folder name: “PokéPathTD Backups”

Keep last 5 files, delete older ones monthly to avoid clutter.

Use cloud sync

Store off-device so cache clearing won’t matter.

Versioning strategy

Keep “latest”, “yesterday”, “boss-ready”, “pre-route-change” checkpoints.

Troubleshooting (Most Common Problems)

“Invalid code / Incorrect code”

Cause:

  • Clipboard truncation when copying a huge export string.
  • Using an outdated export string (older one may fail).

Fix:

  • Prefer Download (.txt).
  • Re-export again AFTER reaching a real save point.

“Copy button / Ctrl+C didn’t copy the full string”

Cause:

Very long text can be cut off by clipboard limits.

Fix:

  • Use Download (.txt).
  • Fallback: click the code field, Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C, paste into a text file manually.

“Export tab shows an old string”

Cause:

Export code is generated when opening Export; older codes can become stale.

Fix:

Go back to the game, trigger a real save moment (upgrade/wave end), then reopen Export and download a fresh .txt.

“.txt download doesn’t work”

Fix:

  • Try exporting again after a save point and reloading the page.
  • Use the copy-as-text fallback (Ctrl+A/Ctrl+C) into a .txt file manually, then import that content.
